Finland

Finland is a parliamentary republic within the framework of a representative democracy. It covers an area of 338,455 square kilometres (130,678 sq mi) with a population of 5.6 million. Finland consists of 19 regions and 309 municipalities, and most have fewer than 6,000 residents. Finland has a long history in transport system planning and in the integration of land use and transport system planning.  Transport system planning is implemented at several levels: national, regional and urban regions/cities. 


There are four cities of which one (Helsinki) is a metropolitan area with Urban Mobility Plans online with a total population of 1.0 million people. The cities range in size from 98,826 people (Lahti) to 0.6 million people (Helsinki). All plans are available in English.
