Mexico

Mexico covers 1,972,550 km2 (761,610 sq mi) and has an estimated population of over 126 million. Mexico is a federal republic comprising 31 states and Mexico City, its capital. Other major urban areas include Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla, Toluca, Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, and León. Mexico’s urban areas generate 90% of the country’s GDP and house four-fifths of the population. Sprawl has also made Mexicans very car-dependent and the motorisation rate has doubled over the past decade.

There are seven cities of which three are metropolitan areas with Urban Mobility Plans online with a total population of 17.5 million people. The cities range in size from 272,007 people (La Paz) to 8.9 million people (Mexico City). All plans are in Spanish.
